Architectural Design Studio IB: Life Capsule

The main aim of Project 2 is to heighten the awareness of students about the human body, interaction of space and body, and explore the role of reasoning and logic in shaping the form. Students in a group of 3 needs to design a life capsule for one that needed be used for 24 hours.

This limited space will challenge students to thoroughly examine and consider anthropometry and ergonomics -body dimensions, body movements, human behaviours and user needs. Students will then progress on to understand how the human body relates to space, and further developing an understanding of scale and proportion in the relationship between the body and space.

Our desire focus is to design a space for backpackers. In short, backpackers are also survivors as they require only the essential to get through the day: Storage, Hygiene and Rest. My teammates and I  put our thoughts together to make a simple rhythmic flow of space as to fully suit the backpackers needs.
