Building Materials B: Materiality of Space

For our second Building Materials project, I've teamed up with Peh Ker Neng, Tan Shing Yeou, Peng Yep Siang and Jason Lee Yao Sheng to take up the first part of the project titled 'Materiality of Space'.

Our lecturers wants us to choose an interesting space that consists of many different materials for us to study. Our observations and findings are to be included in two A2 size presentation boards. After a round of tutorial with our lecture, we eventually chose Setiawalk's Padi restaurant as our desire study space. The mood board below helps to bring out the definition of Padi's raw materials without any use of wordings.

For the second part of the project, individual students must choose a vintage shop house and study how the space and materials relate one another. I've chosen Kuala Lumpur's all time oldest restaurant 'Coliseum 1921' as part of my research.
